Currently under construction, Ohly is building a new plant in China to better meet the local customer demands.
Though acting globally in sales and having three production sites in the US and Germany, Ohly had no business with China in the past. ‘It is an exciting time coming up for all of us and we are confident that we can offer interesting solutions to the local food and fermentation industries’, says Rainer Huettermann, Global Sales Director of Ohly.First product samples made under the same conditions as there will be in China are already available.
The expansion of the Ohly yeast extracts business with the building of a new Yeast Extracts plant in Acheng, Harbin, China was announced in November 2007. The plant is expected to be on stream end of 2009 with latest technology. A state of the art application center, based in Shanghai, will offer support to the customers by developing tailor-made products in close cooperation with the customer and R&D as well as providing solutions to the changing market demands.
