Health and Safety
Health and safety has become a fundamental aspect in our day-to-day business activities. Ohly provides a safe and healthy working environment in line with local regulations to protect employees, visitors and the public from any foreseeable work hazards. To support the monitoring of our health and safety performance, internal work safety audits and inspections take place continuously. In order to ensure a high level of safety awareness Ohly also provides regular trainings to the Ohly employees. We also encourage all our contractors to be SCC (Safety Contractor Certificate) certified in order to work with us.
Our plant in Hamburg was awarded by the local authority for health and safety as “Site with Superior Work Safety System” and also received the recognition of workplace health promotion „Hamburger Gesundheitspreis 2005”.
Environment
The protection and responsible handling of our environment are essential elements of our daily activities. Compliance with current legislations and outperforming in energy conservation are our declared targets.
Based on continuous improvements of our process, regular internal and external assessments and quantifying environmental impacts of our operations, we work on minimising the discharges of our plants. Typically we thrive to
- minimise air emissions, effluent and waste disposal;
- efficient usage of energy;
- investing in substantial energy conservation and reduction programmes;
- minimise the impact of incidents with effective emergency response procedures.
The environmental performance of our business is constantly being reviewed by the managing board.
To support the continuous improvement process of work safety and environment we have a worker’s proposal and rewarding system in place with special focus on safety, health and environment.
