Yeast Beta Glucans
ß-(1,3)/(1,6) glucan is known as an immunodulant. In many in-vitro and in-vivo studies modulation of the activities of the body defence system, such as macrophages, granulocytes and monocytes were reported. Glucan is one of the very first immunomodulant studied.
Applications: The supplementation of feed material with the yeast beta glucans is recommended for aqua culture and for young animals where a support of the immune system and improved gut health is necessary for growth and weight gain.
Yeast Mannans
Mannan is a major polysaccharide component of yeast cell wall, mannose molecules are linked via alpha-(1,2)/(1,3)/(1,6) positions. Mannan is extracted from yeast cell wall as a mannoprotein complex. Studies show pathogens such as Salmonella and E.coli have mannose specific lectins on their cell surface which can bind to the mannoprotein complex. Besides that, mannoprotein also show certain mycotoxin binding capability.
Applications: Due to the usual properties, supplementation of feed material with mannoprotein complex can support gut health and facilitate the health management.
High Nucleotid/RNA Yeast Extracts
Nucleotides and ribonucleic acid (RNA) are known for their immunomodulating effect and nutrititive effect supporting fast replicating cells especially in young animals, helping also the recovery and reduction of cell damage under stress situation often encountered in animal farming.
Applications: The supplementation of feed material with yeast nucleotide/rna is beneficial for very young animals in aqua culture, swine and poultry production to support high replicating rate of immune cells and other cells essential for growth and health.
