Ohly’s highly purified yeast extracts are ultra filtrated to fulfil the regulations for pharmaceutical production. They are suitable for all types of nutrient solutions and fertile media for the production of bioactive molecules and chemicals. Due to the purification the yeast extracts do not cause any turbidity and precipitation in the fermentation and downstream processing.
Ohly® PTK is obtained by a salt free autolysis of primary yeast. By means of an extensive purification process, the yeast extract is free from undesired components and is very low in vegetative microbes and spores. Therefore Ohly® PTK has a light colour and is extremely clear, even after sterilisation. Ohly® PTK has a physiological pH and can be microfiltered and ultrafiltered without any problems.
Ohly® PTU is an ultrafiltrated low salt yeast extract with a high content of easy available peptides. It is free-flowing and of fine, slightly granular structure and light yellow to brownish-yellow appearance.
