Yeast-based flavours, whether from baker’s or Torula yeast, are the result of adding additional flavour components to the yeast base or may be derived through reaction processing (Maillard Reaction) or a combination of both processes. These processes result in yeast-based products having very specific flavours, such as, beef, roasted poultry, smoky, dairy, and deep roasted.

Ohly brand names of yeast-based flavours are Ohly® and Provesta®.
