Following a new set-up of Ohly’s innovation department and an expansion of its expertise, for our headquarters in Hamburg in Germany we are looking for a Research Technician (m/f).
The Role & Your Tasks
As Research Technician you are responsible for the execution of innovation projects in the domain of fermentation studies and product development. You set-up, execute, interpret and report on experiments in consultation with the (lead-) scientists and/or project managers. You remain up-to date with the technological developments in the area of microbial biotechnology. Preferably you are able to come up with new market relevant project ideas, are able to identify patentable ideas and have affinity with business development.
You have an abitur followed by an MSc in microbiology/biochemistry/fermentation/biocatalysis/ biochemical engineering. Previous work experience in the food or biotechnology industry is a pre-requisite.
You have good analytical and experimentation skills, and should not be afraid of technical equipment, combined with good communication and reporting skills. You are a team player and like to work in an entrepreneurial environment. You are a self-starter, able to handle changing priorities with a good command of English, both spoken and written.
